Hubei seems to have run out of a wolf


On the afternoon of May 6, a canine suspected to be a wolf ran out of Hengxiang animal training base in Xishan, Ezhou City, Hubei Province. A staff member of Ezhou Emergency Management Bureau told the upstream news reporter that at about 5:25 p.m., the Bureau received the news that a canine suspected of wolf ran out of the base. The Bureau immediately coordinated the staff of forest public security, special police, natural resources and Planning Bureau to participate in the search. In the course of the search, the Bureau contacted the head of the base, who replied that the dogs running out were the offspring of the hybridized wolf and husky and were not aggressive.
The person in charge, Zhou Wei, is the legal representative of Hengxiang animal training base in Xishan. The upstream news reporter called Zhou Wei many times, but he didn’t answer.
According to the industrial and commercial registration information, the Hengxiang animal training base in Xishan, Ezhou city was established on December 30, 2016, with Zhou Wei as its legal representative. Business scope includes preparation: animal performance, breeding and domestication.
Upstream journalists learned that the base raised tigers, lions and other animals, and would perform animal performances in Ezhou and other cities on weekdays.
On June 6, 2019, the Hengxiang animal training base in Xishan of Ezhou City applied for the wild animal artificial breeding license in 2019, and the application project is the operation and utilization of wild animals such as macaques and zebras.
A staff member of Ezhou Emergency Management Bureau said they got a reply from the head of the training base that the escaped wolf was actually a crossbred wolf dog with husky, which was not aggressive.
Upstream journalists repeatedly verified to Ezhou Forest Public Security Bureau that the species information of Hengxiang animal training base in Xishan of Ezhou city was wolf. Last year, a monkey ran out of the base.
Is the dog that runs out this time the offspring of wolf or wolf and husky after all? Aggressive or not? A person in charge of the scene of arrest said that whether Zhou Wei’s statement is true or not remains to be further investigated.
